“Moin” is a greeting you can use at any time of day or night in the north of Germany, including Hamburg. Read this post for tips on what else you can do in Germany’s largest Northern city, as well as my suggestions on how to spend a full week in Hamburg.
I have a confession to make: I don’t love every city to which I travel. There, I said it. I found Ottawa boring and didn’t like the vibe in Copenhagen. However, I try to give every place a second chance because while I hated Paris on my first trip, I fell in love with it on my subsequent trips. Paris is still my favorite city in the world. That’s why I thought I would enjoy Bucharest in the summer. I first traveled to the Romanian capital in the fall of 2016 and didn’t like it, but as the city has a lot of parks, I figured it might be pretty in the summer. I went back last week, but it turns out I still dislike the Bucharest. Well, I can’t love every place in the world. Nonetheless, there are things that I like in this Eastern European capital, and I’m going to share them with you in case you find yourself in this part of the world for a few days. Here are my favorite things to do in Bucharest, Romania.
Growing up in Germany, I have been concerned with the Jewish Holocaust since I was a child. From what I remember, the subject came up in our school curriculum every one to two years. As young people living in Germany, it was an obligation for us to learn about what the country we called home was responsible for and how these horrible crimes were made possible.
Lithuania is not exactly known for being a culinary paradise. However, Vilnius didn’t disappoint me. I was able to try two vegan restaurants and went to a vegan store during my short stay in Lithuania’s capital. When I travel I choose to support vegan places, so I can only report on those, but there are several other restaurants that you could go to which offer vegan options.
It’s been way too long, so I think I should jump right back in with a post on my recent trip to Budapest, the capital of Hungary. I’ve been asked for suggestions and compiled a list of the top 19 things to do in Budapest. Of course, we all have different interests, so these are just some of the things I liked. Feel free to skip some of them and do something else instead. The most populous city on the Danube river has an abundance of experiences to offer.
