“And the Winner Is…” (I Won a Giveaway)

So I won a giveaway, everyone, and here’s what happened.

A few weeks ago TopVintage, the leading European vintage-inspired online store, held a giveaway. The prize was a complete summer look, including a dress, a swimsuit, two accessories, and a pair of shoes. Much to my surprise, I was the winner. Even more surprising was the fact that I was actually going to choose every single item myself. I had expected them to have already chosen the items, so I was infinitely more happy to be able to browse their entire online store to choose exactly what I would like.

It always takes a long time for things from other European countries to get to Greece, so I had to wait almost three weeks for the package to arrive, but there is a word in German for this kind of anticipation – Vorfreude (“pre-joy”). When I opened the package last Friday the items were packaged so beautifully that I didn’t want to unpack them at first.

The great thing about TopVintage is that for every item they have a size chart to compare with your own measurements. For me, it can be difficult to find things that have an overall good fit, as I have a small waist compared to my bust and hips. But the items I chose fit really well.

I had my eyes on this dress for several months. It’s the Izzie Pastry Swing dress by Swedish brand Miss Candyfloss. The brand produces all its clothing in Europe under fair trade conditions, which is very important to me. The material is 100% cotton, which makes it very comfortable to wear. The design of macarons, cakes, and cupcakes is super cute. It can be worn with a petticoat to make it even more spectacular.

Here’s a picture of me wearing what just might be my new favorite dress. And then there are the two accessories I chose: a headband and a handbag.

I still can’t believe that I won a giveaway. Have you ever won anything?
